Cartavio Rum Company counts with the finest technology in the modern fermentation plant, the first of its kind built in the Americas. The following features make our facility a world-class:

 – Cartavio Rum Company has a continuous fermentation plant with recirculation of yeast, the only one in Peru.

– It is the first of its kind installed in Latin America, has been designed to produce fermented using sugarcane molasses as the main raw material.

– It has the highest yield of liters of ethyl alcohol.

Cartavio Rum Company, has the equipment of continuous or batch distillation, also called Alembic Simple or Pot Still. Constructed of copper, it is heated by the steam that comes from one of three shell boilers; also, has a tower system of continuous distillation. Furthermore, the company performs the aging of its rums by using artisanal techniques and respecting the old Caribbean tradition. The Cartavio rums are aged in 14 warehouses, where more than 46,000 fine european and american oak barrels of various capacities (100, 200, 500 L) rest.  The ventilation and humidity are technically controlled in order to successfully reduce evaporative losses. Cartavio rums rest peacefully for many years in American and European white oak barrels, and when they are ready, the art of mixing begins in order to obtain the final product.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Attractive deep mahogany color.

Nose: Complex and sophisticated, strong and sweet at the same time. Superbly assembled; intense in aromas of spices, nuts, vanilla and chocolate. Excellent level of wood, contribution of American French an Slovenian oak barrel.

Palate: Very soft and tasty. Confirm the excellence of what is perceived in the nose; extraordinary texture and flavor; Long in the mouth, very persistent
